To an evening with L.O.R. (Ladies of Restaurants) discussing positive change in the world of food and drink, and the action being taken for improved gender balance. This panel is followed by an incredible three course meal inspired by the wild and prepared for you by Ozone’s Chef Varnie and her kitchen team.

NATALIA RIBBE – FOUNDER, LADIES OF RESTAURANTS

Natalia Ribbe heads up the hospitality initiative L.O.R.
(Ladies of Restaurants). Following a degree in theatre, Natalia put her “acting” skills to the test, working her way through several restaurants in Vienna, New York and London from the age of 17. Natalia started L.O.R. in 2016. What started as small gatherings at the pub, has turned into one big support group. Alongside L.O.R., Natalia works with the National children charity @magicbreky looking after their restaurant partnerships.

MAXINE THOMPSON – FOUNDER, POLKAPANTS

Maxine Thompson is the founder of PolkaPants, tailored trousers designed for female chefs and women in hospitality. Maxine studied fashion design
and worked for Chanel, before training as a chef
at New York’s International Culinary Centre. PolkaPants are now worn by chefs in some of the best restaurants in the world including The River Café and Petersham Nurseries in London, and have grown to become
a favourite of women working across the creative industries looking for great-fitting, practical trousers.

RAVNEET GILL – FOUNDER, COUNTERTALK / PASTRY CHEF

Ravneet completed a degree in Psychology but decided to pursue her real passion which was baking and pastry. She completed two terms in Patisserie at Le Cordon Bleu. After working a stint at St John, Ravneet set up Countertalk. Countertalk is a platform designed to help improve the work environments for those working in hospitality and to create more of a network of chefs
in London. Currently, Ravneet is running Countertalk events which include screenings food based events supperclubs and helping chefs to find positive kitchens to work in. This is alongside working full time as a chef.

YLVA JOHANNESSON – HEAD OF MEMBERSHIP, SUSTAINABLE RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION

With a background in nutrition and food policy,
as well as many years’ experience working in the restaurant industry, Ylva is passionate about making our food system more sustainable for both people and the planet. Issues associated with sustainable diets, health and nutrition and food waste are of particular interest. Ylva heads up the membership team at the SRA, providing bespoke advice to food service providers and organisations in the UK and globally. Prior to joining the SRA, Ylva worked on food policy projects in the European Commission, consulted food businesses on nutrition and delivered healthy eating programmes for children.
