
There's a rich sweetness and silky texture like single cream at the start, with chocolate and yellow plum notes adding depth. A hint of orange, then the soft flavour of raspberry lingering on the aftertaste brings you back for another sip.
El Fuerte means “Fort” and takes it’s name from the nearby UNESCO world heritage site of Fuerte de Samaipata, a unique pre-Hispanic archeological site. The farm is one of 4 in Samaipata owned by the Rodriguez family. The farms are situated on adjacent hills, with El Fuerte also home to the wet mill which processes coffees cherries from all 4 farms.

Samaipata is not a traditional coffee producing region, but the plants have thrived here and the local team of workers are quickly becoming skilled in coffee cultivation. The region is lower altitude and warmer than La Paz, with a more laid back attitude which reflects the areas popularity as a tourist destination.
