The producers of La Cometa can be found nestled between 3 active volcanoes in the Sacatepéquez region of Guatemala. Previous volcanic activity, along with hot winds from the Guatemalan Pacific coast, offer these producers land that is rich in nutrients and warmth, creating
a great environment for coffee trees.

Working with Caravela, producers contributing to La Cometa receive a payment based on the quality of their coffee, and not based on the Commodity market price. Commodity (also known as C-Market) pricing is at an all-time low, making it difficult for many farmers to live from their harvest or build infrastructure to produce better quality coffee. We’re proud to work with sourcing partner Caravela, who are committed to making sure farmers are getting paid properly and invest in education programmes to help producers improve coffee quality.
