Notes

KENYA KAMUCHUNI is a wet coffee processing mill located in the Mukurweini District, on the slopes of Mount Kenya. It is part of a Cooperative called Ruthaka that owns several other wet mills in the area, including Ruarai, Mukui, Nduma, Muthuthiini, Kibutio and Karaba. The Kanuchuni wet mill was constructed in 1987 and registered under the Cooperative’s Society Act in April 2004.

Ruthaka Cooperative is well known for paying fair prices for coffee, based on quality level. There are many processing mills in the area but farmers choose to deliver to Kamuchuni for this reason.

The majority of Kenyan Cooperative coffee is traded through centralised auctions. We have secured this coffee through our sourcing partner, Collaborative Coffee Source, who have a long-standing relationship with Kamuchuni and were therefore able to purchase this coffee outside of the auction system.

Perfect for brewing on V60, Chemex, AeroPress and French Press.
