This is a brand-new coffee for us from one of our most trusted and longest standing producing partners, the Mierisch family. The farm is affectionately named after Erwin, Stephen and Eleane’s grandmother, Mina McEwan. Mina passed away in 2008 and it was seen as a fitting tribute to this amazing lady. Surrounded by trees and mountains in every direction, the aspect of the farm looks onto the vastness of the forest covered high mountain ranges. Through tribute to its namesake, the farm’s workers take great pride in keeping the farm and its surroundings organised and beautiful. Huge amounts of flowers are cultivated here which keeps the environment uniquely aromatic. Despite being a relatively young farm, we think it produces some of the best coffees! Partly down to its altitude and nutrient-rich soil, but mostly down to the huge amount of love and care that’s given to the picking and processing stages.
