This coffee comes to us from the GITESI washing station in the Nyamasheke region of Rwanda. The Gitesi washing station is a family-run business, managed by Aime Gitesi, who is full of energy and passion for producing exceptional coffee in his community.

All farmers that bring their coffee cherries to Gitesi are paid a base payment and Aime ensures that they receive a second payment, depending on what the coffee parchment is sold for. This incentivises farmers to increase quality.

Gitesi also has a project in place to distribute water pumps and cows to farms that may need assistance, and targets poor farmers that will benefit the most. Cows produce an organic fertiliser, improving soil quality, and the milk can be sold or used to increase nutrition of the farmers.
