  • Always Organic, Always Evolving

Our Organic Single Origin is a year-round offering that celebrates the diversity and seasonality of coffee. While the name stays the same, the coffee itself changes throughout the year as fresh harvests arrive from our trusted Organic producers around the world. Each lot is carefully selected ensuring it delivers the quality and flavour you know and expect from us, as well as carrying certified organic credentials.

A Seasonal Journey in Every Cup

Coffee is a seasonal crop, and each harvest is finite. That means the specific origin, flavour profile, and story behind this coffee will shift over time. By subscribing, you’ll be taken on a journey through different regions and producers, all united by a commitment to organic farming. It’s a great way to explore the world of coffee while supporting sustainable practices - one cup at a time. We normally expect each of our Organic single origin coffees to last around 4-6 months.

    Current Origin: Tolima, Colombia

This season’s Organic Single Origin comes from 84 smallholder producers of Asociación Multiactiva de Productores café Excelencia de Ataco Tolima (Café Excelencia) who grow coffee in Tolima, Colombia - a region celebrated for its rugged landscapes, rich biodiversity, and ideal conditions for growing high-quality, specialty-grade coffee.

    A Region Reborn

Tolima has only recently begun to gain recognition as a coffee-producing region, despite its ideal growing conditions. For many years, its mountainous terrain and limited infrastructure made it difficult to access, and the region was heavily affected by the presence of the FARC, Colombia’s leftist guerrilla group. This contributed to Tolima’s isolation and a reputation for violence and instability. Until around 2012, travel to the area was restricted, and coffee buyers were largely unable to reach producers. But as peace talks progressed and security improved, Tolima began to open up - revealing a region rich in potential and resilience.

    From Coca to Coffee

Historically, coca cultivation was a dominant source of income in Tolima, driven by necessity and lack of alternatives. However, in recent years, many farmers have shifted away from coca and toward coffee as a more stable and legitimate livelihood. Coffee is now one of the region’s main crops, alongside beans and cattle, and it plays a vital role in the local economy. This transformation has been supported by organised producer groups that help farmers improve their practices, gain certifications, and access better markets. These efforts have not only elevated the quality of coffee from Tolima but also helped build safer, more sustainable communities.

    Meet the Producers

One such group is the Asociación Multiactiva de Productores Café Excelencia de Ataco Tolima (Café Excelencia), a collective of 84 small farms in the municipality of Ataco. Each producer operates their own mill, equipped with pulping facilities, fermentation tanks, and raised drying beds - allowing them to process their coffee with care and precision. The association now works with our exporting partner, Cóndor, who supports the farmers by bringing their coffee to international markets. This particular lot is certified organic, meaning no chemicals are used on the farms. It’s a remarkable example of how coffee can drive positive change - empowering producers, protecting the environment, and helping communities move toward a brighter, safer future.

An easy drinking mix of brown sugar and biscuit, there's a delicate green apple edge to the finish.
