The forest in Samaipata, Santa Cruz, Bolivia

We are featuring the washed counterpart to last week’s subscription coffee. Finca Floripondio Batian Washed is another lot from the Rodriguez family that really stands out on the table. Even though the coffee is a washed process, the cherries have still undergone a lactic fermentation which influences the bold flavours found in the cup. The Batian variety comes from Kenya and was designed as a leaf-rust resistant varietal that allowed farmers to protect their crops and still produce a high cup quality, we’re really excited to feature this innovative lot and showcase the work of the Rodriguez family.
