Learn more about coffee sourcingJoyce and Johana Calderón
Nestled in Santa María de Dota, Costa Rica’s renowned Tarrazú region, Micro-Beneficio Granitos de Altura del Ortiz is a testament to sisterhood and passion.
For over a decade, sisters Joyce and Johana Calderón have steered the mill, originally led by their father, Omar, who now manages their family farms. Johana helmed operations for nine years before stepping back after welcoming her baby in 2023, passing the reins to Joyce.

Our Relationships
From the producers we work with at origin, to those in our business and across coffee’s entire supply chain, women play a vital role in bringing you the perfect brew. We’ll continue to foster an inclusive space for women in our industry and build upon the work we’re already doing. On this International Women’s Day, we’re inspired and humbled by every woman who’s part of creating great coffee experiences for our community. These are just a few producers that we work with.
