Compared to many coffee farms, La Alondra has a cool, damp climate with mist filling the valley. Vigorous growth of native trees means that coffee matures slowly and develops great flavour. It also means that the usually small Caturra and Villa Sarchi plants which are grown here have had to become tall and full as they reach for the sun amid the dappled shade
