Acaia Pearl Coffee Scale (Pitch Black)
-
The Acaia Pearl is the benchmark coffee scale for a reason. Rebuilt from the ground up with Acaia's latest weighing technology, it's faster, more responsive, and more readable than its predecessor - and it remains the scale of choice for serious home brewers and working baristas alike.
At its core the Pearl does what any good brew scale should: measures weight and time with precision and reliability. But the real-time flow-rate indicator takes it further, giving you a visual read on your pour rate as you brew - a genuinely useful tool for improving consistency whether you're dialling in a V60, a Chemex, or a batch brew. It's equally capable as a portafilter scale for espresso, handling the 2kg capacity needed for weighing shot output without fuss.

Who Is the Acaia Pearl For?
The Pearl suits anyone who brews coffee with intention - from those pulling their first careful V60 at home to experienced baristas who want a reliable, repeatable tool across multiple brew methods. Its 160 × 160 mm platform comfortably fits a Hario V60, Chemex, AeroPress, or Kalita Wave, and it works just as well on a flat surface for espresso dosing. Pair it with our brew guides to dial in your technique from day one.
Also available in Classic White. Not sure whether the Pearl or the Acaia Lunar is right for you? The Pearl's 160 mm platform and brewing modes make it the better choice for filter-first setups, and it works well for espresso dosing too. The Lunar is purpose-built to sit on an espresso machine drip tray for live shot weighing, with a finer 0.01g readability. Browse the full Acaia range to compare.

What can I use the Acaia Pearl for?
The Pearl is most commonly used for filter and pour-over brewing — V60, Chemex, AeroPress, Kalita Wave, and batch brew. It's also widely used for espresso dosing, weighing your ground coffee directly into the portafilter before pulling a shot. If you want one scale that works across your whole coffee setup, the Pearl handles it all.
What is the difference between the Acaia Pearl and the Acaia Lunar?
The Pearl (160 × 160 mm, 0.1g readability) is a versatile all-rounder — best suited to filter and pour-over brewing, and excellent for espresso dosing. The Lunar (105 × 105 mm, 0.01g readability) is purpose-built to sit on an espresso machine drip tray for live shot weighing, with finer precision and a flow-rate indicator tuned for espresso extraction. If filter coffee is your main method, choose the Pearl. If you're primarily pulling espresso and want the scale under the cup, choose the Lunar.
What is the difference between the Pitch Black and Classic White Pearl?
They are the same scale with identical specifications — the only difference is colour. Pitch Black has a dark anodised finish; Classic White has a light, clean aesthetic. Both are available at the same price. Choose whichever suits your setup best.
Does the Acaia Pearl work with the Acaia app?
Yes. Download the free Acaia app (iOS and Android), then hold the timer button to activate Bluetooth pairing mode. The app gives you access to additional brewing modes, brew logging, and firmware updates to keep the scale running at its best.
How do I charge the Acaia Pearl?
The Pearl charges via USB-C — the cable is included in the box. Battery life is 30–40 hours, so for home use most people charge it every few months if brewing one cup a day.
What brewers fit on the Acaia Pearl?
The 160 × 160 mm platform comfortably fits a Hario V60 (01 and 02), Chemex (all sizes), AeroPress, Kalita Wave, and most other pour-over and filter brewers. It also works well under a server or carafe for batch brewing, and on a flat surface for espresso dosing.
