Phoka Hills Woman's Coffee is a unique blend of coffee grown by female producers in Malawi. Importantly, 225 of the approximately 775 members of Phoka Hills Planters’ Cooperative are female, and this coffee is a blend of the products of their hard work. The female producers who grew these lots were paid directly for their coffee, which is a crucial step towards promoting gender equality and empowering women. By paying women for their hard work, the cooperative is helping to transform the role of women in their families and communities, providing them with greater control over their finances and access to basic goods and services.
