The Acme Union is a mug with a backstory. Modelled on the chunky cafeteria mugs that served mid-century New Zealand, from railway dining cars to canteen counters, it's been reinterpreted for the modern coffee drinker. Same satisfying heft, same no-nonsense diner-style shape, but made from high-grade porcelain and built to last a lifetime on your kitchen shelf.
The original shape descends from the famously unbreakable Crown Lynn railway cup, a piece of Kiwiana so durable that passengers used to throw them out of moving train windows to test them against tunnel walls. The Union carries that same logic forward: thick walls for heat retention, a wide flared base for stability, and a generous handle built for a proper full-finger grip.
At 230ml it sits in a sweet spot for milk-based coffees: flat whites, cortados, the occasional latte, or a well-measured filter. It's the kind of mug that feels right the moment you pick it up.

Care
Dishwasher safe. Hand washing will help preserve the glaze finish over time. Avoid sudden temperature changes (e.g. fridge straight to boiling water) to protect the porcelain.
Porcelain is a natural material and will exhibit subtle variations in the product, glaze coverage, and finish.
