Subminimal FlowTip Milk Jug 450ml, Black with Handle
-
The Subminimal FlowTip Milk Jug is a 450ml latte art jug built around one very specific idea: a patented spout that makes precise, controlled pouring feel natural. Subminimal, the team behind the NanoFoamer, shaped the FlowTip with a smooth neck and a tip that's only sharp at the very end, so milk leaves the jug in a steady, predictable stream. That means cleaner hearts, tighter tulips and better-defined rosettas without having to fight your kit. This is the black version with a handle, finished in matte black stainless steel.
The jug holds 450ml in total, but Subminimal recommends around 180ml of milk as the ideal steaming volume. That's the sweet spot for a single milk drink, leaving plenty of headroom for the milk to stretch and roll as you texture it, whether you're using a steam wand or a handheld frother. The compact 110 x 120 x 82mm body and 250g weight keep it nimble in the hand, which matters when you're making the small wrist movements that latte art relies on.
Choose the handle version if you heat milk on the hob as well as under a steam wand. Its ergonomic phenolic resin handle is heat resistant, and the jug can go on gas and electric hobs up to 65°C, or on induction with a diffuser. The whole jug is dishwasher safe, too. Every FlowTip also comes with access to Subminimal's Latte Art Masterclass, for your first heart or a cleaner slow rosetta.

What makes the FlowTip spout good for latte art?
The patented FlowTip spout pairs a smooth neck with a tip that's only sharp at the very end, so milk leaves the jug in a controlled, consistent stream. The smooth neck helps you lay down a clean base, and the sharp tip gives you finer control when finishing a design, whether that's a heart, tulip or rosetta.
How much milk should I put in the FlowTip jug?
Subminimal recommends around 180ml of milk as the ideal steaming volume, from a total capacity of 450ml. That leaves enough space for the milk to expand and roll as you texture it, which is how you get glossy, pourable microfoam.
Can I use the FlowTip jug on the hob?
Yes, the handle version is safe on gas and electric hobs, with a maximum of 65°C for stovetop use. Induction hobs need a diffuser. Keep the handle away from direct flame and prolonged high heat, as it can deform if overheated.
Can I put the FlowTip jug in the microwave?
No. The FlowTip is made from stainless steel, so keep it out of the microwave.
Is the FlowTip jug dishwasher safe?
Yes, every version of the FlowTip can go in the dishwasher. While you're keeping your milk kit clean, don't forget the inside of your steam wand too. Our Pallo Steamy Wanda is made for exactly that job.
Should I choose the FlowTip with a handle or the handleless version?
The handle version is the more versatile choice, as its heat-resistant phenolic resin handle means it can go on the hob. The handleless version has a silicone sleeve for grip instead, and Subminimal doesn't recommend it for stovetop use because the sleeve gets too hot. Both share the same 450ml capacity and FlowTip spout, so pouring performance is the same either way.
Does the FlowTip work with a handheld milk frother?
Yes. Subminimal designed the FlowTip alongside its own NanoFoamer handheld frothers, and the recommended 180ml volume works just as well with a handheld frother as it does under an espresso machine steam wand.
What comes in the box?
You'll get the FlowTip Milk Jug, a user manual and access to Subminimal's Latte Art Masterclass, which takes you through the fundamentals of pouring.
