On the slopes of Laguna de Las Ninfas we find Finca Nejapa, the farm is owned by Gloria Mercedes Rodrigues Fontan who inherited the plot from her father Jose Maria Rodrigues Herrera. The coffee on the farm has been seperated into 3 plots, Santa Marta, Roma and Los Vientos, the latter is where this one comes from.
With ideal soil conditions and a strong understanding of what it takes to produce specialty coffee, Gloria leads a team of 35 workers who are responsible for picking and processes the lots. She pays 90% above minimum wage as an incentive the workers in picking the ripest cherries and ensure maximum quality. We strongly support Gloria’s work ethic and are proud to be showcasing one her lots.
It’s like biting into a chocolate biscuit at first, then you get the velvety caramel texture coming through with a slight walnut note on the end.
