Decaf & Half Caff Coffee Beans
Decaffeinated coffee has a reputation it doesn't always deserve. Most mass-market decaf is produced using solvent-based processes that strip flavour alongside caffeine, leaving flat, lifeless coffee that tastes of compromise. Specialty decaf, sourced and processed carefully, is a different proposition. The coffees we use for our decaf are selected on cup quality first and decaffeinated using the sugar cane (ethyl acetate) process: a naturally derived solvent produced from sugar cane fermentation, which selectively bonds with caffeine molecules while leaving the flavour compounds in the bean largely intact. The result retains the origin character, roast development, and cup clarity you'd expect from any other coffee we sell. Our Half Caff is a blend of regular and decaffeinated coffee, designed for people who want to reduce caffeine intake without eliminating it entirely. It carries around half the caffeine of a standard cup and is blended to drink well across all brew methods, with the same milk chocolate and brown sugar character as our other approachable blends.
