Shake things up with our signature Ozone Cold Brew Martini recipe!

The Cold Brew Martini is a refreshing, modern take on the classic Espresso Martini. Using cold brew instead of espresso gives it a smoother, less acidic profile - perfect for specialty coffee lovers and cocktail enthusiasts alike.

We caught up with Joel Whitall, our Wholesale Business Development Executive and 2024 UK Coffee in Good Spirits finalist, who generously shared his go-to Cold Brew Martini recipe.

  • 35ml Cold Brew
  • 25ml Cointreau
  • 25ml Demerara sugar syrup
  • Slice of orange

Equipment Needed

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Fine strainer
  • Martini glass
  • Jigger or measuring tool

How to Make a Cold Brew Martini

  1. Chill Your Glass
Place your martini glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water while you prepare the drink.
  2. Shake It Up
Add East London Vodka, Cold Brew, Cointreau and demerara sugar syrup to a shaker filled with ice and shake until well-chilled.
  3. Shake Vigorously
Shake for 15–20 seconds until the shaker feels ice-cold and a frothy crema forms.
  4. Strain & Serve
Double strain into your chilled martini glass for a smooth finish.
  5. Garnish
Garnish with a twisted slice of orange, zesting the rim of the glass.

The combination of bitter and sweet Cointreau flavours paired with coffee is a match made in heaven.

Pro Tips from Our Baristas

  • For making espresso martini's at home; sugar is king and always Demerara for the flavour (or panela if you're feeling fancy). Combine two parts sugar, and one part water in a saucepan over a low heat; stirring, until the sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool before use.
  • Use a strong cold brew: A concentrate works best for bold flavour.
  • Chill everything: Cold ingredients help create that signature frothy top.
  • Try variations: Swap vodka for spiced rum or add a dash of vanilla syrup.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I use regular cold brew instead of concentrate?
Yes, but reduce the amount of added liquid to maintain balance.
  • What’s the difference between cold brew and espresso martinis?
Cold brew martinis are smoother and less acidic, with a more mellow caffeine kick.
  • Can I make it non-alcoholic?
Absolutely! Use a non-alcoholic coffee liqueur and skip the vodka.
