    What sets the Kalita Wave apart from standard flat or conical filters is its patented 20-wave construction. These crimped edges minimise contact between the paper and the dripper walls, creating air pockets that help maintain a stable brewing temperature throughout extraction. The result is more consistent heat retention and a cleaner, more balanced cup. The flat-bottom design promotes an even coffee bed, which reduces the risk of channelling and makes the Kalita Wave particularly forgiving for those still refining their pour-over technique.

    The filters are manufactured from oxygen-bleached pulp and carry FSC certification, making them both flavour-neutral and responsibly sourced.   • Do I need to rinse Kalita Wave filters before brewing?

    Rinsing is optional but recommended. The paper is thin and produces minimal papery taste on its own, but a quick rinse also preheats your dripper and helps the filter sit properly in the brewer.

    What's the difference between the 155 and 185 sizes?

    The 155 is designed for single servings of around 200-300ml, while the 185 accommodates larger brews of 300-500ml. Choose based on how much coffee you typically brew in one session rather than the number of cups.

    Can I use Kalita Wave filters in other drippers?
