Sproud Barista pea protein milk alternative
-
Sproud Barista is a Swedish pea protein drink made for the steam wand. It stretches into a silky microfoam that holds long enough to pour latte art, and the taste is clean and neutral, so your coffee tastes like coffee.
Try it in a flat white and you get body and a smooth, creamy texture. The flavour stays out of the way: the chocolate in an espresso, the fruit in a filter. Pour a splash into filter coffee and it adds creaminess while the brew keeps its own character.
High in protein, low in sugar
Every 100ml has 2g of protein and 1.9g of sugar, and Sugarwise certifies it as low in sugar. It's fortified with calcium, vitamin D, riboflavin (B2) and vitamin B12. It's also vegan and free from dairy, gluten, nuts, soya and GMOs.
Lower climate impact
Sproud says Barista has a lower climate impact than dairy and other plant-based drinks. Their sustainability page has the CO2e comparisons.
Tea, smoothies and cereal too
Coffee is the main event, but Sproud works anywhere you'd reach for milk. Try it in tea, in a smoothie or over cereal.
What's in it
Water, rapeseed oil and 2.5% pea protein, with a little agave syrup for sweetness. Shake the carton well before you pour. Once opened, keep it in the fridge and use within seven days.
