Urnex Coffee Descaler & Cleaning Products

Urnex is the most widely used brand of coffee equipment cleaning products in the specialty coffee industry, trusted by cafés and home brewers for the consistency and effectiveness of their formulations. Each product in the range is designed for a specific cleaning task: Cafiza for backflushing espresso machine group heads and portafilters; Dezcal for descaling boilers, kettles, and filter brewers; Grindz for removing coffee oil and residue from grinder burrs and chutes; Rinza for breaking down milk protein and fat build-up in steam wands and auto-frothers; and Tabz for cleaning filter brewers and coffee urns in commercial service environments.

Using the right product for each task matters. Cafiza and Dezcal in particular are formulated for different purposes and should not be interchanged: Cafiza removes coffee oils and organic residue, while Dezcal targets mineral scale from hard water. Most espresso setups benefit from both, used on different cleaning schedules. Grindz is particularly useful when changing between very different coffee types or after a grinder has been unused for an extended period.
