What's the difference between the 300ml and 500ml Clever Dripper?

Size and filter fit. The 300ml suits a single mug and uses size 2 filters. The 500ml brews more and uses size 4 filters. Pick based on how much you usually brew in one go.

Is the Clever Dripper dishwasher safe?

No. It isn't dishwasher or microwave safe. Wash it by hand with warm, soapy water, which also helps it last longer.

What filters does the Clever Dripper use?

The 300ml takes size 2 filters and the 500ml takes size 4. We stock the official Clever Dripper papers, cut specifically for the valve system, and Filtropa filters in the matching sizes fit well too.

How is the Clever Dripper different from a normal pour-over dripper?

A normal dripper lets water pass straight through the coffee bed as you pour. The Clever Dripper holds the water and grounds together until you release the valve, so every drop of water sits in contact with the coffee before it filters through. That's the immersion side of the brew, with a clean, paper-filtered finish.

How does the valve work?

While the Clever Dripper sits on the counter, the valve stays sealed and the coffee steeps in the water. Place it on top of your mug or server and the weight releases the valve, letting the brewed coffee drain through the filter.
